La Villa Puente Opens
Withee Malcolm Architects were on hand to celebrate the grand opening of La Villa Puente on January 15, 2020. SDG Housing Partners’ redevelopment of the family affordable project updated the residences and introduced new amenities to the community. The architects added nearly 2000 sf of community space plus a manager’s unit as part of the renovation. Designed as a new entry to the project, the community space with its Spanish revival-style architecture, and covered portico with outdoor fireplace, creates a welcoming environment. Existing residential buildings were simplified in form; new windows and balconies were added to each unit. The community comprises 120, 100% low income units, including one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments, plus one manager’s unit.
