Withee Malcolm transformed a non-descript distribution warehouse into an inviting and highly efficient new headquarters for Unical Aviation, Inc., a fast-growing aircraft parts brokerage. The adapted facility includes 40,000 sf of new executive office space as well as 20,000 sf of shops, laboratories and testing operations.

From the landscaped grounds to the welcoming entry to the light and bright workspaces, the designers not only reconfigured the standard warehouse space, they re-imagined Unical’s workplace. Introducing distinctive architectural elements, quality materials and a lively color palette, the design creates a strong sense of place and identity in an unlikely environment, setting the site apart from surrounding warehouse neighbors. Parking spaces were removed to create an open outdoor green-space adjacent to the executive office areas.
