The redesign of the Held lobby expands the existing footprint of the lobby and common area from 2,500 to 3,350 square feet. Initial observation revealed that the lobby had little room for human connection. It served solely as a large corridor to transport people from the exterior to the interior and tenant spaces.
The new design revitalizes the lobby integrating a program that promotes opportunities for tenants to network and socialize throughout the day. An operable partition opens the lobby up to the space outside. Tenants and visitors are welcomed with large area rugs, comfortable arrangements of furniture, bright colors, and custom glow-stick chandeliers that illuminate two of the side sitting areas. One of the highlights of the space is the LED Digital Art column that is central to the space, creating a dynamic feel throughout the lobby. The new faceted security desk is a sculptural feature showcased within the space. Recladding, reskinning, and new stone flooring create a functional high end, lobby with a hospitality touch.
The existing large canopy extending from inside the building all the way to the valet drop-off served as both design inspiration and challenge. The design embraces the canopy extending the lobby to the front two existing columns to create an inviting communal space.
