Bloomington Grove’s Impact Increases with Phase III Completion
Team members Mauricio Munoz and Dan Withee joined client Related California and the County of San Bernardino, tenants, community members and local VIP’s for the Phase III opening of Bloomington Grove. The mixed-use affordable and permanent supportive housing development serves as the specific plan anchor for a former industrial site, and with a mix of community-minded services and intergenerational housing options, the development has delivered on the County’s promise for more affordable housing options while catalyzing the evolution of a sustainable community. With the completion of the third phase, the 9 acre site features a total of 190 units of affordable family housing geared towards families. The project also incorporates Lillian Court, a low-income community for those aged 55 and over also designed by Withee Malcolm – A BSB Design Studio. Community-centric amenities include a new 6,500-square-foot public library, a suite of social services, and multiple recreational areas.
As part of the event, Stan Smith, Vice President of Development for Related California noted, “When we build a facility like this, we have 3,000 families on a waiting list within a month; 3,000 families clamoring to try to get the opportunity to live in a community like this. We always build to this amazing and high-level standard”.
